I imagine it must be difficult if you run a world class, gorgeous diamond emporium filled with fabulously dazzling creations, and you have an event, and you let women like me parade around modeling any gorgeous bauble that takes their fancy, what do you then pop into the goody bag at the end? The answer in Boodles case, is, nothing. Nada. Zip. Ok….. a catalogue. 

I don’t know what I was expecting, it’s not like they are going to give everyone a diamond is it? I am being unreasonable. But it’s a bitter sweet experience, to be so close to so much gorgeousness. Perhaps they could invest in some branded candy, to extend that ‘being in a sweetie shop’ feeling? A Boodles gob stopper might have helped me get over my disappointment at not actually making a purchase.

I loved the experience, and noted that a woman in a necklace worth £150k suddenly looks and acts like a woman in a necklace worth £150k. My diamond and platinum bracelet and ear rings from the waterfall collection were stunning and elegant and I WANT THEM! We were all very good girls and we gave back the jewels at the end of the evening, to the superbly informed staff, after some gentle persuasion. 

We were also lucky to have a preview of a sumptuous one-off emerald necklace, the centre piece of Boodles’ newest branch in the re-opened Savoy Hotel. Valued at approximately £465,000 it was simply stunning and destined for someone’s very privileged neck. Ho hum. Bitter? Me? Nah!! Where’s that Argos catalogue?

Inner Glo’s inaugural power breakfast was a classy affair, as you would expect, with the best cappucino in Cheadle, naturally, (there was never any danger of stewed coffee and fluffy mints if Inner Glo was in charge!) 

The attendees were all creative entrepreneurs who have worked hard to carve a unique role for themselves and clearly enjoy what they do. Flashes of Inner Glo “va va vroom” were in evidence – with dancing, disco, sultry boudoir photography, gorgeous hand crafted jewellery, sumptuous soft furnishings and professional artists, all represented, full of energy and drive and not a glass of champagne in sight! 

 Julie Brook from Vital Focus provided the grown-up business part of the meeting. She helps companies, big and small, develop their growth strategies. Taking a practical approach to business planning, the Vital Focus model singles out the key priorities for growth, from the wide range of competing demands on time and money.

Still it wouldn’t be Inner Glo without a raffle and luckily Debbie, a Mary Kay beauty consultant provided a goody bag full of make up treats.  Another fab event, I felt refreshed and energized after meeting so many great business women, thanks again and see you soon!

Inner Glo member, Club AZ are hosting a fabulous evening at Hoopers on Thurs 30 Sept, from 6.30pm.Enjoy a glass of Prosecco and nibbles, courtesy of Loch Fyne in Alderley Edge, whilst you browse the beauty and perfumery department where there will be demos, gifts with purchases, makeovers and goody bags. This is a great chance to stock up on your favourite cosmetics, or make an early start to your Christmas shopping! Rocking with Rose an interesting proposition for a summer’s evening at the chicest new child-friendly destination – the gorgeous Glo Family Centre in Cheadle. Imagine a boutique health club and spa for little ‘uns, with top notch facilities for their accompanying grown ups! Any evening beginning with chilled pink fizz and canapés, is a winner for me. Nick from Rodney Densem Wines, Inner Glo’s personal wine adviser, was a  rose between many thorns (that’s an old fashioned way of saying he was the only bloke) and a marvellous host, despite his attention-grabbing use of a Vuvuzala for crowd control. ( I had hoped we could forget the World Cup now!) He entertained with a cheeky rosé tasting quiz, which demonstrated that they do actually look and taste different. Who would have thought it? I just glug a glass or two when it’s warm outside, usually with a sausage in my other hand!

The lovely Inner Glo members were chatty and perky as ever: my table discussing, amongst other things, the holy Grail of desirable work – well paid, interesting and with child-friendly hours, whilst a few contemplated another baby so they could enjoy the Glo Centre.

A fab raffle continued the Inner Glo tradition, including gorgeous accessories from Daisy Imprints and Busy Betsy. A lovely, relaxed evening in a great setting, thanks again!

Glo Family are proud to be opening their unique new centre in Cheadle, which features a delicious organic cafe, sensory play room, toddler play area, exercise studio, consulting rooms for holistic therapies, as well as a beautiful garden and onsite parking.

Its a very decadent feeling, shimmying into the stylish Epernay Champagne Bar in the centre of Manchester, in the early evening. It’s a great location with a fabulous outlook of the city, perfect for a glass of fizz.

The event was hosted by the champagne house of G H Mumm, or, now I’ve tasted their wares, that’s Mummm. And I admit I was unaware of their credentials until the entertaining talk, which was pitched just right for the audience- some key facts for using to impress your friends, like the difference between vintage and non vintage (and it’s not just the price) and loads of insider gossip on their champagne rivals! Don’t mention Moet!

I was very impressed by the knowledgable Inner Glo ladies, some great questions came up, we sounded like we knew our stuff,  I can’t imagine  a WAG coming up with those questions…..and we demonstrated our drinking skills with great finesse as well.

As usual, it’s no problem at all to be unaccompanied at an Inner Glo event, you are quickly included in the conversation and made very welcome. It was a busy event with lots of lovely new faces, I didn’t get to chat with everybody this time, so will have lots to catch up when we ladies rendez-vous again!

The fabulous sight of Serena, an Inner Glo regular, being very generous with her magnum of Mumm, was my personal highlight!
